Product Reviewed: Clarisonic Mia

The Clarisonic Mia can be accurately summed up in two words: Life. Changing.  I do not exaggerate.  At first I was suspicious of the Mia (high price point, could be a gimmick, will I ever really use it?), but now that I have one I can't imagine going back to my pre-Mia lifestyle.   The Mia is the travel-size baby of the Clarisonic family.  It comes in one- and two-speed versions (I have the one speed) and a variety of bathroom complimenting colors.  The oscillating brush head jiggles dirt, oil, and bacteria out of your pores for the deepest clean you've ever felt.  Instead of pushing cleanser, make-up, and grime into your pores (which is unfortunately what can happen if you wash using your hands) the Clarisonic technology uses sonic technology to cleanse, smooth, and soften your skin.  I have absolutely noticed healthier, more supple skin as well as more even skin tone, less congestion, and fewer breakouts.  The brush will turn on for one minute at a time.  Spend 20 moving the brush in circles on your forehead, 10 seconds on each cheek, and 20 on your nose and chin area.  This product is ABSOLUTELY worth the investment!

Tip: The Clarisonics all come with the Sensitive brush head.  This is the perfect fit for most skin types.  For those looking for a deeper clean bump up to the Normal brush.  For sensitive skin try the Sensitive or uber-soft Acne brushes.  If you're skin is very congested try using the Deep Pore Cleansing brush a couple times a week.

Another tip: Clarisonic makes a few great cleansers, but you can use any cleanser with it so long as the cleanser does not have exfoliating beads--that would be way too much abrasion.
